Tape Portrait

You make the outline. They fill it in. The whole thing peels up when you are done.

What you need

Colored tape. A hard floor. That is it.

Steps
1

Kid lies down on the floor. Trace their full outline in one color of tape, pressing it flat as you go.

2

They stand up and look at their silhouette. Now the decorating starts.

3

Use different tape colors to fill in everything: hair, eyes, a smile, a shirt, pants, shoes, hands, feet, whatever they want.

4

Step back and look at the finished portrait together.

5

Peel the whole thing up when done. Floor is clean.

Variations
Family portrait

Do a parent outline next to the kid outline and compare the size difference.

Monster version

No rules on what it has to look like. Purple hair, eight eyes, a cape. Their call entirely.

Best dressed

Two kids, two outlines, ten minutes on the clock. Parent judges whose tape outfit wins.

Parent tip: Let them decorate without any suggestions. The face they create will be more interesting than anything you would have come up with.
